This popular summer destination in Italy is a firm favourite for global travellers. The admired towns of Positano, Amalfi & Sorrento possess gorgeous views, great hiking spots, well-kept beaches, tasty local food and trendy nightlife hotspots. The charm and history will continue to entice visitors to enjoy and explore the surroundings of this Italian region.

The jewel of Tuscany is world renowned as the birthing grounds of the Italian Renaissance period and holds some of the most famous artworks and sculptures, including Michelangelo’s David and Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. The notable architecture, fashionable culture and amazing Italian culinary delights allow Florence to bring in millions of visitors throughout the year.

4. Valencia

In Spain’s third largest city, this location experiences long warm weather during the summer months, with temperatures between 25 to 30 degrees. Valencia has lively nightlife, stunning beach spots, popular gardens and intriguing monuments for visitors to experience. With its wealth of activities, this Spanish coastal destination is an ideal alternative to Barcelona and Madrid.

5. Stockholm

The Nordic culture, historic sites and extended days in the summer sunshine makes Scandinavia’s most populous city a desired destination to sight-see. Despite the expensive costs to wine and dine in the city, Stockholm provides an abundance of museums, lovely parks, informative tours and boat cruises for international travellers to engage in during the long summer days.

  • Nearest airport: Stockholm-Bromma (BMA),
  • Alternative airports: Stockholm Arlanda International (ARN), Stockholm Skavsta (NYO), Stockholm Västerås (VST)

6. Madeira

The Portuguese island sits north of the Canary Islands and has good weather all year round, making it an enjoyable location to visit throughout the year. The region is known for its food and drink, especially its wine and outdoor activities including paragliding, surfing and rock climbing. With its decent amount of accommodation around its capital Funchal, stunning landscapes and ease of foot travel, Madeira is not a destination to be ignored.
