Redemption Bar | Spoil Yourself Without Spoiling Yourself at this Vegan Restaurant

Last month my vegan friend Tahra (All Things Ms. Tahra) invited me to do a joint review of Redemption Bar- a plant-based, vegan restaurant nestled at the end of Old street (video link at the end of this post). Never one to say no to trying new food, I jumped on the tube and went to check it out.
REDEMPTION BAR AT A GLANCE
Venue type: Vegan Restaurant & Bar
- Location: Old Street, East London & Notting Hill, West London
- Opening hours: Mon-Fri (12-11pm), Saturday (10am-11pm) & CLOSED Sundays
- Drink prices: £4-6
- Food prices: £8-15
- Website: http://redemptionbar.co.uk/
It's slightly further away from the street than other restaurants so you're forgiven if you made the same mistake as me and walk straight past it.
It's nice and cosy inside with a good amount of natural light shining through the windows. The interior is simple; a good mix of functional and stylish. There's also some interesting pieces dotted around and a spotlight mirror that provides the ultimate lighting for those bathroom selfies.
This was my first time in a plant-based vegan restaurant and I had no clue what to go for. As opposed to looking for the best meat offering , I had to spend time looking at the menu. As it was brunch, we had to do pancakes but with a twist...
I had the sweet option, buckwheat pancakes with a gorgeous assortment of fruit to top it off.
Whereas Ms. Tahra went for the sweetcorn & red pepper pancakes, I think I went for the better choice as far as foodgasms go but both were good. For dessert, I recommend the mango and passionfruit cheesecake (the cover image of this post)
Super Hero Shake A protein-rich shake made from almond milk rightly called the superhero shake was my tipple of choice-which would be perfect as a post-gym treat #gains.
FINAL THOUGHTS ON REDEMPTION BAR
Although I am not a converted vegan now, I would definitely return. Originally, I thought I wouldn't be full eating vegan food but I was very wrong. Catherine, the owner of Redemption and her attentive staff were super friendly. If you're looking to spoil yourself without spoiling yourself, pay Redemption Bar a visit.
Watch the video we filmed on the day HERE. Until next time chaps.
