Peckham Springs | Hipster Cocktail Bar & Gallery in Peckham Rye

Stand at platform 2 at Peckham Rye station on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night and you'll want to cancel any plans you've made and join the party below. This is because Peckham Springs is right underneath the station which makes it perfect for getting to and from. Apart from being a great hangout and a shabby-chic cocktail bar with a killer happy hour, it also double-hats as a gallery.
PECKHAM SPRINGS AT A GLANCE
- Venue type: Bar & Gallery
- Location: Peckham, South London
- Opening hours: 7pm-12am (Thurs) & 6pm-12am (Fri-Sat)
- Drink prices: £5 cocktails in mobile bar outside, £6+ from the bar inside
- Facebook: http://peckhamsprings.co.uk/
Its very minimalistic in Peckham Springs, if you're not ordering a drink you're on the dance-floor or you're out back. There are a few benches to sit down but I wouldn't advise it as inside is mainly for dancing and there's better variety of spaces outside.
There's outdoor heating at Peckham Springs so you're never too cold, if this fails just stand near the grill and warm yourself up (just watch out for the hot oil splash-backs). There's a separate menu outside offering cheap and simple cocktails if you don't fancy queueing inside.
Navigate your way through the crowds of happy people shaking a leg (or their interpretation of dancing) and you've made it to the bar. Even if its not happy hour at Peckham Springs drinks are amazing value.
The outdoor space plays home to a host of interchanging pop-up vendors at Peckham Springs, as they say; variety is the spice of life. Peckham Spring's food vendors change up every month (1 at a time), two of my favourites are below:
FINAL THOUGHTS ON PECKHAM SPRINGS
High spirits, soul/funk music and cheap, plentiful booze is always a good mix. I applaud anyone able to come here after a bad day/week and still manage to hold on to their hump.
Peckham Springs is my default go to if I want to keep things local. Its never a dull night and as it's mainly outside space its perfect for a big group. The drinks are cheap, people are friendly and the music keeps the good vibes going- what's not to love?
