Icon Bar | Cocktails on top of a West End Casino

I have been meaning to write this for so long but I've been so busy but I guess late is better than never right? I had the extreme pleasure of being invited down to Empire Casino to try their new Summer drinks menu before it launched (shout out Ashanti the plug!).
Nested at the top of Empire Casino, Icon Bar has a great view of Leicester Square from its balcony. I came on a particularly hot day and just as you'd expect, there were many people enjoying a drink and looking down at the passing peasants people on a buzzing Friday evening. What's great is that if gambling isn't your thing, this is a good place to start your night out in true West End glam style.
As nice as the view was, I was here for business. It was time to see if this place had more to offer than a potential jackpot- or empty pockets if like me you're horribly unlucky. There's a good array of drinks to choose from the Signature Cocktails menu at Icon Bar. I'll say all have a sweeter edge to them which is great for those with a sweet-tooth. My personal fave was Dragon's Kiss, a delicious cocktail served in a martini glass with a slight kick at the end. In fact, it was so good that I almost forgot to take a photo before drinking.
Dragon's Kiss - Ciroc Red Berry, fresh watermelon, melon liqueur, Tabasco sauce, fresh lemon juice & cranberry juice
Endless Night and Day - Captain Morgan Spiced Rum, raspberry puree, blueberry perry, fresh lime juice, sugar syrup and passion fruit juice
Honeydew Nectar - Tanqueray gin, fresh honeydew melon, lemon juice, sugar syrup and pineapple juice
Kiwi Fantasia - Don Julio Tequila, Contreau, fresh kiwi, lemon juice and sugar syrup
Very friendly bartenders, I always make a point of getting to know your bartenders. For one, they are making your drinks, I don't want just anyone handling such precious cargo personally. More importantly, you get to know a little bit more about your drink and the bartender themselves which equals an overall better drink. The guys here are no different, great sense of humour and make a point about finding a drink that's right for you- even if its off the menu.
Final Thoughts on Icon Bar
It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the West End. Why not plan a poker party and then end the night in the bar? I reckon it would also make for a good date spot as an alternative to a standard bar. To be honest whatever your reason is for getting down there you won't be disappointed.
Until next time chaps.
