We covered a lot of ground in the episode that budding entrepreneurs and non-entrepreneurs alike will surely take a lot from. In line with the theme of this season, they both made sure they spoke candidly and at length.

HERE’S A SUMMARY OF THE KEY TAKEOUTS FROM THE POD:

  • Bola and Urenna’s entrepreneurial journeys started differently but shared a similar theme. A genuine need and gap in the market centred for the millennial female.

  • Insight and analytics are vital when building your product as well as how you gather that data.

  • “What are weekends?” The grind doesn’t stop when it comes to your own business but there needs to be a balance.

  • There are many ways to secure funding for your business but there are added layers of difficulty when you are a black entrepreneur creating for a black audience.

  • The Lean Canvas Model is a great tool for validating your idea.

  • If you keep waiting for your business or product to be perfect, you will never launch. Launch even the basic version and if your audience likes it you can always improve over time.
