3 Ways to Spark Your Fitness Motivation This Winter

Working out during the winter months gets harder as all you want to do is wrap up in the warmth. But as the saying goes; summer bodies are made in the winter and sparking this motivation could be the key to reaching your goal a bit sooner.

Here are three ways to ensure you do not lose ground this winter and kick-start or continue your fitness journey.

1. Form a Routine

If you know you work out better in the morning, prepare for morning workouts. Work out when you know you are going to be the most productive. After work during winter could be easier as waking up on cold mornings may not be your preference. The key is to essentially ensure you get at least a few good sessions in a week. Training three times a week is a great starting point for beginners. Anything worth getting is not easily obtained. Plan your workout days and times and stick to them!

2. Meal Prep

This is arguably the most important point in this post. Working out is easier than eating well. Eating well ensures even when you do not workout you maintain where you are in your fitness journey. It also accelerates your progress. Due to the cold weather, you are also prone to eating more, as our bodies go into survival mode; and we crave higher calorific foods. This is more reason to ensure all your main meals and snacks are prepared a couple of days before or the night before you need to eat it. 3. Stay Ready

Pack your gym bag the night before; having your gym bag packed is half of the work done already. If you have your kit staring at you, you’re likely to be more inclined to workout over not. Maybe get yourself some new kit? Little things like getting new gym clothes or accessories motivate you to get your sweat on!
