3 Reasons Why Autumn's the BEST Time to Travel
Contributed by MoveWithDoyin
Hey hey! So summer’s officially over, we’ve been welcomed with longer nights and shorter days which is even more of a reason to get out and explore somewhere else! We all love snapping up the pre-summer season deals but the benefits of travelling during the autumn months are also something to rave about! Here’s why...
1. It’s just cheaper!
In order to fill aeroplane seats airlines pretty much play around with the going price of a seat until the plane is completely full (or overbooked if you’re Arik Air). After summer - when travelling begins to drop - airlines are forced to lower their prices to fill up seats. This is also replicated by hotels, tour companies, car hire services etc so it really just makes sense to travel during autumn!
Here’s a cheeky tip for the risk takers: Plan a random trip between September and November. Make a last minute flight booking and if you’re lucky enough to find an unfilled plane you’ll probably secure some super cheap tickets (especially if you travel midweek).
2. Influencers are hella’ welcome during this season!
I reached out to a bunch of brands and hotels requesting collaborations as a blogger (more to come on my pitch approach so look out for a post in the future)! Although successful in acquiring sponsored trips this summer I also received rejection upon rejection.
Majority of the rejection responses had specified that the summer season is a difficult period to collaborate with bloggers due to busy schedules, events and the unavailability of rooms (slight ego boost there lol). Many hotels were keen to collaborate in autumn once the busy season has concluded. As an influencer, autumn can be your golden ticket to securing those crazy brand sponsorships/collaborations so don’t be shy to politely jump into their DM’s!
3. Time to try SOLO travelling
So many folks want to experience a solo travel trip but are discouraged due to crowds, sky-high prices for solo hotel rooms...oh and “the awkward looks”. I managed to overcome those solo travel woes by vacating when the crowds were less so I could really enjoy “solo time” and actually explore a given city without the masses. So hey, try it out, book a random trip and treat yourself this autumn!
Thanks for the read and make sure you get some travels in this autumn!
